Sounds like we have both had "fun" filled days so far cosy. At least I am onto relaxing for now. And I just logged onto GW for the first time in a long time. oO

you logged on, but did you do anything?????

well we got everything back up and running (was a bit iffy there with our external server--it likes to be shutdown properly and gets very 'picky' about how its brought back up if not done right----).....it was fun to go around and see what the clocks said (some start up from where they left off--so at 3pm one said it was 8:30! most of the others just start over from 12:00).

though it wasnt so much fun to have to reset everything else (took about 3 hours to get all the other electronics back up et.al.)
and yes a new ups is on my xmas list (if not before).....though I doubt that even a new one would have held out for 6 hours (though for long enough for me to shut everything down right would be my hope).

and it was impossible to even think about taking a shower and washing my butt length hair (bathroom is interior eg no windows and no electricity means no hair dryer )

I really want a house of my own, and a generator for it!

Why did henry and Marquez transfer to red Bulls, can't be for anything but money, as the American league isn't that interesting, it's gotten better yes, but Champions League (europe only) is far far more exciting.

I'll guess it's a money thing and/or playtime thing.

I am GW once in a while to play with some real life friends, some Vanquishing, but that's it, really only waiting for GW2 to come out.

I didn't do anything lol I was going to and then I remembered I have TF2 on my comp. So I played that instead.

We have a generator at our house. Which isn't hooked up. But we have had it for 8-9 months now.

They transferred to try to draw interest for MLS in America. They think if they get World Class players, or in this case former World Class players, that more Americans will be interested in it. Unfortunately I don't think that is what it is going to take. It is going to take the Americans to get past the semi's in the next World Cup and maybe to the finals to draw more interest. After the Americans got all the way to the finals of the Gold Cup interest was huge, thus why the World Cup drew great ratings here in America. But for Americans to keep interest we need to do better in the World Cup and show that soccer can be exciting.

Even if we won the World Cup, I wouldn't be interested... I would need scores like 8-8 or something to make it anything close to interesting.

yeah soccer has a lot to prove to the american audience before it will be accepted as one of the 'american past time sports' like baseball, basketball and football.....(even hockey gets a backseat in some places in the usa.....sad to say as its one of the most, er, exciting sports ----).
oh I actually said something sports like and sounded like I might know something....wow...I wont let it happen again.

This is where i am different, i find games with lots of goals, to be really really boring.

Like basket.

I do however enjoy football (your football) at times.

The only time games with lots of goals are exciting is when it is back and forth. Then it is alright.

This is the view of most Americans I do believe. Which doesn't surprise me since they are so used to high scoring games.

Honestly its not about the scoring. I'd rather not just watch them run around doing next to nothing for 90 min. If that means putting the ball in the net and running around like its the first time they've done it, then thats that.

well high scoring games arent that much fun either----when I was in high school our football (yes reg ole american type) was the worst in history (at least that is what we thought) we routinely lost by more than 70 points (with us scoring nothing).....it was boring to watch the other team, get the ball....run it down the field and bam! touchdown, we get the ball, down1,2,3 punt.....rinse repeat for all 4 quarters.
College was the exact same, except we were the team who beat the other teams (and they did score too, but I think the highest score was something in the 90's to like 14)....also quite boring (and being in the band annoying having to play the fight song every 3 1/2 minutes or so).

its not all about the scoring if the playing is interesting-----ooops there I go again commenting on sports

Thats why I said high scoring games are only fun to watch when it is back and forth. Blowouts do get very boring.

There is more to the game then just scoring. It's how they pass it and why. The runs with and without the ball. It takes a bit more to understand and appreciate when you haven't played it or been around it your whole life I do believe.

We haven't talked much about food lately... Speaking of food I want to figure out what to have for lunch in a few hours... Hot dogs maybe?

......did someone say FOOD???????

well I decided to try and play nice with the sports guys for the last 2 days (and I spent yesterday rereworking that external hard drive issue....looks like we might have to get a new one---at which point my hubby's eyes lit up with joy--like at xmas---as he mentioned a file server he wishes for us to build for its replacement!)
So I have been up to my nose with computer stuff, and I am not a techie really (I am out of date).

but we went to a really nice fish restaurant for dinner last night, and tuesday was all you can eat shrimp, so I am shrimped out for a while. And the night before my hubby had gotten some fresh tomatoes and cucumbers (and some basil) from a friend--so we had a nice fresh tomato cucumber salad with our dinner. Still have one big tomato left which is going to be made into sauce tonight (it has some issues so a sauce is a better idea for it).

enough food talk???

After shooting with my dad I went and got pork tenderloin at a hole-in-the-wall bar. They have the best tenderloin in the area hands down. So freaking delicious! And it's HUGE.
